Frequently asked questions

What should an animation receipt include?

Include the animation type, final duration in seconds, deliverable formats, usage rights granted, number of revision rounds included, and total received. Note whether source files are included or licensed separately.

How should animators handle receipts for project milestone payments?

Issue a receipt for each milestone — script approval, storyboard, animatic, final delivery. Note which milestone the payment covers. This is standard practice for larger animation projects.

Should animators include music and sound design on the same receipt?

If music and sound are included in your package, yes — list them as line items. If a third-party composer is involved and you're passing the cost on, list it separately at cost so the client can see what they paid.
