What should a DJ receipt include?
Include the event date and venue, set times, equipment provided, any additional hours played, travel expenses if charged, and total amount received. Note whether the deposit has been deducted.
When should a DJ issue a receipt?
Issue a deposit receipt at booking and a final receipt after the event once the remaining balance is paid. Some DJs issue the final receipt on the night — either is fine as long as payment is confirmed.
Do DJs need public liability insurance? Should it appear on receipts?
Public liability insurance is strongly recommended but doesn't need to appear on receipts. Your insurance details should be in your booking contract, not your payment receipt.
