Your invoice needs your business name or your full name if you are operating solo, plus contact details and any tax registration numbers required in your area. Include the date, a simple invoice number, and your client's name. Break down what you taught: private session on Tuesday at 2pm, beginner's meditation workshop on Saturday, eight-week mindfulness course. List the rate and total for each item. If you are teaching corporate clients, their accounting departments will want a purchase order number if they issued one.

Most meditation teachers ask for payment right after single sessions, either by card or money transfer. For course packages, collect the full amount upfront or at least half before the first class. Studios and corporate gigs usually work on net 30 terms, meaning they pay a month after you submit your invoice. Do not start a multi-week program without getting paid first unless you are working with an established organization.
